The Bihar government has released the findings of its caste-based census, revealing key insights into the state's demographic composition. According to the report, the backward class constitutes 27.13% of the population, while the extremely backward class makes up 36.01%. The general category represents 15.52% of the population.

The census, conducted in Bihar, a state with a total population of over 13 crores, was completed on August 6, with data uploaded by August 12. The information collected during the survey has been made accessible exclusively to government departments via the BIJAGA (Bihar Jaati Adharit Ganana) app.

The disclosure of this data is a significant step in understanding the state's social structure and will likely inform government policies aimed at addressing the needs and concerns of various caste groups. The caste census is expected to provide valuable insights into social disparities and guide initiatives aimed at achieving greater equity and inclusivity in Bihar.
